Terms of Service

Effective date: May 16, 2026

These terms are designed to be strong and launch-ready in plain language, but they are not a substitute for review by a qualified attorney.

1. Agreement to terms

By using Scnrly, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app, website, cloud backup, or related services.

2. What Scnrly provides

Scnrly provides iPhone document scanning, local document storage, optional account-based cloud backup, and web access for cloud-backed documents. Features may change, be added, or be removed over time.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and may not use another person’s account without permission.

4. Local-only mode

Local-only mode lets you use scanning features without an account. You are responsible for backing up, exporting, or preserving local files. If local files are deleted from your device or app data is removed, Scnrly may not be able to recover them.

5. Cloud backup

Cloud backup is optional and requires an account and, where applicable, Premium access. Cloud backup is designed to store documents associated with your account and make them available through the web app. You are responsible for the documents you upload and for ensuring you have the right to store them.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Premium pricing is planned at $9.99/month or $59.99/year. Purchases are managed through Apple in the iOS app. Apple handles billing, cancellation, refunds, and subscription management under Apple’s rules. Prices, trial availability, and subscription terms may change before or after launch.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use Scnrly to upload, store, share, or process content that is illegal, infringing, abusive, exploitative, malicious, or harmful. You may not attempt to bypass access controls, probe systems, abuse storage, disrupt service, or access another user’s data.

8. Your content

You retain ownership of documents you scan or upload. You grant Scnrly the limited rights necessary to store, process, transmit, display, preview, download, back up, delete, and otherwise operate the service for your documents.

9. Privacy

Use of Scnrly is also governed by the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how documents are handled, and how cloud backup works.

10. Security and account responsibility

Scnrly uses reasonable technical measures to protect cloud-backed documents, but no service is perfectly secure. You are responsible for using a strong password, protecting your devices, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.

11. Data loss and backups

Scnrly is not a guaranteed archival system. Cloud backup is intended to improve access and recovery, but you should keep independent copies of critical documents. Scnrly is not liable for lost documents, interrupted sync, device issues, provider outages, or accidental deletion to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Document accuracy

Scnrly may crop, process, preview, convert, or display documents. You are responsible for checking that scans are complete, readable, accurate, and acceptable for your intended use.

13. Future PDF tools

Features such as signatures, file combining, and PDF editing may be added in the future. Planned features are not guaranteed until released. Do not rely on future features for current obligations.

14. Third-party services

Scnrly may rely on third-party platforms for hosting, storage, authentication, payments, analytics, email, and other operations. Third-party services may be subject to their own terms and policies.

15. Suspension or termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create risk, fail to pay for Premium where required, abuse the service, or if continued service would create legal, security, or operational concerns.

16. Disclaimers

Scnrly is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scnrly disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and error-free operation.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scnrly will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, documents, goodwill, or business opportunities.

18. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Scnrly harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the service, your documents, your violation of these terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

19. Changes to terms

We may update these terms as Scnrly evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
